Reasons Germany remains a popular choice for international students.

Overseas education is a life-changing experience for learners as it entails travel, exposure to new cultures, values, art, history, people and a way of life. For those deterred by a lack of scholarship, unwillingness to bear hefty student loans or tuition fees, it is wiser to choose a country that offers good quality of education, at a lower price point, with abundant job opportunities.

That is where a country like Germany has been able to offer the best education across disciplines. Germans do not believe in making education exclusive and believe that free education is a basic human right.

The country deems that this, in turn, aids the economy and the wellbeing of the nation. As a result, public educational institutions do not charge tuition fees, a benefit extended to international students as well. However, students are required to pay between €100-€350 as a semester contribution.

Furthermore, universities in Germany emphasize a practice-oriented approach to complement academic teaching, which adds to its popularity among global learners, who seek outcome-oriented learning.

As a result, the universities partner with companies to ensure students gain theoretical and practical knowledge throughout the course. This ensures that students graduate with the skills and theoretical know-how that makes them highly employable and ready to solve real-world problems.

Germany offers the lowest-priced courses in Europe and provides an array of scholarships for international students. Some of the scholarships financed by private and government authorities include Mawista Scholarship, Einstein International Postdoctoral Fellowship, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Scholarships, Heinrich Böll Scholarships for International Students, Erasmus+ and DAAD Scholarships.

Furthermore, the country has policies in place that help international students work part-time to help them cover the cost of living in the country. However, learners have to adhere to part-time work regulations and require a work permit.

Along with the various other benefits, Germany is desirable due to relatively lower living costs. International learners have to pay between 75 Euros for a student visa.

Prospective students will have to create a German Blocked Account with a balance of 10,332 Euros per year, from which they can withdraw 861 Euros monthly. Out of this monthly expenditure, cost-effective rent accounts for Euros 250 - 350 per month.

As the fourth-largest economy in the world and the largest economy in Europe, Germany is the third-largest importer of goods and the third-largest exporter as well.

The top ten exporting industries include vehicles, rubber and plastics, food products, basic metals, transport equipment, pharmaceuticals, electrical equipment, electronic products, chemical goods and machinery.

These industries and others provide ample opportunities to students looking for jobs upon graduation. The German economy, classified as a social market economy, features superior levels of innovation and diminished levels of corruption and is home to a highly-skilled labor force.

Germany does present itself as a promising location for overseas education in terms of offering quality at an affordable price point on account of free public education, low living costs, and availability of scholarships.

Finally, as Germany is one of the most advanced economies globally, students can take heart in knowing that one can also land a job upon graduation. So why wouldn't you rather go to Germany! Why?
