Canada extends the validity of Super Visa, parents & grandparents can now stay for 5 years per entry.
Among other announcements, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced that starting July 4, Super Visa holders will be allowed to stay in the country for up to five years per entry. The Super Visa is a multi-entry visa that is valid for up to 10 years.
Canada has announced plans to extend the validity of its popular Super Visa- which allows parents and grandparents of current permanent residents and citizens to visit them.
The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced that starting July 4, Super Visa holders will be allowed to stay in the country for up to five years per entry.
Current holders of the Super Visa will also have the option to request an extension of their stay by up to two years while in Canada.
This means current Super Visa holders will now be able to stay in Canada for up to seven consecutive years.
According to IRCC data, approximately 17,000 Super Visas are issued per year. The visa is a multi-entry visa that is valid for up to 10 years. Another change the IRCC announcement brings is that select international medical insurance companies will be able to provide coverage to Super Visa applicants in the future.
