SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER.
Everyone has a plan in life. Everyone has a goal, a dream or an aspiration. We all wants to become one thing or the other in life. Some achieve success in their guest. Others lag behind, many others, a greater proportion quit. Because they weren't seeing result even with their hard work.
The true is, working hard and working smart are two different things all together. People confuse this two. Many successful people I've known work smarter than harder.
There are habits -working habits you need to
imbibe with for you to work smarter instead of Harder.
1. Plan what you want to accomplish before you
start. Many people believe that too much planning delays execution. It's
better to plan properly than to execute poorly. It saves you time and energy.
So before you start that project, plan the steps involve. Before you start your
study abroad journey, make the necessary preparation. Vantage migration has
FREE planning tool for graduate students all over the world who wish to travel
abroad for study. You want to access the tool? Click Here
2. Make sure you're working from the 80/20
rule.
There
is never enough time to do everything, but there is always enough time to do
the most important things. Identify the important tasks, allot them 80% time
and attention. You may have 10 items on your to-do-list, two of them will be
more important than the other eights put together. In other words, you can call
this prioritizing. Prioritizing your tasks will keep you on top of your game
and increase your productivity.
3. Create time blocks.
Keep
in mind that new tasks and responsibilities will come up continually. Phone
calls, emails, meetings etc, all and most times miscellaneous. The key to
working smarter is also setting junks of time for those unexpected tasks that
will come up. Scheduling your time this way reduces stress and make you feel in
charge of your life.
For
graduate students aiming to study abroad through us, we usually encourage
overlapping of tasks. This simply means, starting your study abroad
preparations while you're still working or doing something else. With this
method, you're been productive in double edge and also learning the art of
multitasking.
You
don't just wait for the time to be right or when you're over and done before
you start. Time is your scarcest resource and you must work smart to preserve
it.
4. Spend your time like money.
Smart
people take cognizance of the quality of time they spend on their daily
activities. Truth is, some activities does not really worth your time. Be
stingy with it. Discipline yourself. Ultimately, your top goal each day should
be to get the highest return on your investment of mental, emotional, financial
and physical energy. That's the key to working smarter.
